Goldberg Bassoon Marc Goldberg is the Associate Principal Bassoon of the New York Philharmonic. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from The Juilliard School as a student of Harold Goltzer. Upon graduating Juilliard, Marc embarked upon a varied and wide-ranging career that rapidly saw him become one of NY's busiest freelance musicians. He appeared regularly with groups ranging from the Philharmonic to the Met, the Boston Symphony to the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Musicians from Marlboro to the Orchestra of St. Luke's, touring with these ensembles throughout North and South America, Europe, and the Far East. Marc has appeared as soloist with the American Symphony, the Brandenburg Ensemble, the NY Chamber Soloists, and the Sea Cliff Chamber Players. He has recorded extensively with Orpheus, St. Luke's, the Met, the Philharmonic, ASO, ACO, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Concordia, Eos, the Chelsea Chamber Ensemble, and will be featured as soloist on a release of the Crusell Trio Concertante with the NY Scandia Symphony. Mr. Goldberg is a longtime faculty member of The Juilliard School Pre-College Division and the Hartt School; in addition he teaches at Columbia University and Mannes College. He makes his home in Westchester County with his wife, flutist Janet Arms, and their daughter Jesse. |
