Timothy
Cobb Bass Timothy Cobb appears on stages such as Bargemusic, Bridgehampton, Caramoor, the 92 Street Y, The Boston Chamber Music Society, La Musica Festival (Sarasota, Fla,), Mostly Mozart, The New Jersey Chamber Music Society, and the Great Performers at Lincoln Center series. He is a past participant in the Marlboro Music Festival, has appeared on tour with Musicians from Marlboro and has collaborated with the Emerson and Guarneri Quartets. A native of Albany NY, Mr. Cobb began his studies on the bass at the age of seven. He attended the Curtis Institute of Music and in his senior year became a member of the Chicago Symphony where he performed until joining the MET Orchestra in his current post as Associate Principal Bass. Mr. Cobb has also served as Principal Bass of the Mostly Mozart orchestra and is the solo bassist for the Harmonic Ensemble, a New York based wind ensemble. Mr. Cobb will appear in Weill Recital Hall in February, 1998 with the Met Chamber ensemble with Maestro James Levine. Mr. Cobb will also appear with the Chamber society of Lincoln Center in March, 1998. Mr. Cobb is on the faculties of the Manhattan School of Music and Purchase College Conservatory of Music. |
