Concordia Chamber Players New Concordia Concert to Explore Folk Music Influence on Eastern European Composers Concordia Premier of Ewazen Trio Was Rich as Chocolate Cake
History Concordia Chamber Players began in 1997 as "The New Hope Chamber Players". Since that time, the objective has been to work
as a bridge to unify the communities of New Hope, Lambertville and the surrounding areas through the intimacy inherent in the experience
of live chamber music. This was possible by the grace and vision of Michelle Djokic, a world class cellist who debuted at age 13 with the
Philadelphia Orchestra, and whose roots are in New Hope. Having played with the best, all over the world, Michelle can bring to New
Hope a caliber of music and musicians otherwise unavailable to us.
They come to New Hope because of their friendship with Michelle and their love to play in "chamber" with treasured colleagues. The 2007-2008 seadson will celebrate the 11th Anniversery of Concordia's playing in New Hope. This year, once again, we will open the season with a special concert and champagne reception at the magical studios of George Nakashima. Our regular season concerts this year will be in the elegant setting of Trinity Church in Solebury, PA, a short distance north of New Hope. The concert hall size allows us to continue providing free tickets for
school age children. Musicians Concordia has featured include Carmit Zori, Catarina Szepes and Peter Winograd - violin, Robert Rinehart and Daniel Panner - viola, David Krakauer and Todd Palmer - clarinet, Nancy Allen - harp, Kenneth Cooper - harpsichord, Blair McMillen and Gail Niwa - piano. The 2007-2008
season's roster include many old friends and some new faces. Please see The Players for complete biographies of the musicians. |
