Carmit Zori

Violin

Firmly established in her native Israel as an important young musician, violinist Carmit Zori was chosen at age 13 by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation to perform on the international television special "Music from Jerusalem". Two years Inter, at the recommendation of Alexander Schneider and Isaac Stern, she came to the United States to study at the Curtis institute of Music, where her teachers included Ivan Galamian, Jaime Laredo, and Arnold Steinhardt.


Peter Winograd

Violin

As first violinist of the American String Quartet, Peter Winograd performs in annual chamber music tours of North America, the capitals of Europe and at the Aspen Music Festival. He has recorded extensively with the quartet, including a recent release of the complete string quartets of Mozart on the Musical Heritage Masters label.


Robert Rinehart

Viola

Robert Rinehart joined the New York Philharmonic's viola section in September 1992. Mr. Rinehart has an extensive background in chamber music; as a founding member of the Ridge String quartet, be toured extensively in Europe, Asia, Australia and North America beginning in 1979. The quarter was featured on all of New York's major chamber music series as well as the Spoleto, Schleswig-Holstein and Helsinki festivals.


Michelle Djokic

Cello, Artistic Director

Michelle Djokic is the artistic director and inspiration of the Concordia Chamber Players. "Djokic is indisputable when playing melody. Her sense of delivery and her mastery of technique have an instinctual rightness about them.”, hailed a critic of the Denver Post. Ms. Djokic made her debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the age of thirteen.

Richard Lalli

Baritone

Richard Lalli is an Associate Professor of Music at Yale, where he has taught since 1982.  Mr. Lalli performs around the world as a singer. He has given solo recitals at Wigmore Hall, the Spoleto Festival USA, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, Merkin Hall in New York, Salle Cortot, and the United States Embassy in Paris. In 2002-2003, Mr. Lalli performed William Walton's Facade with the composer's widow at Yale University.


Phillip Bush

Piano

Phillip Bush is an Assistant Professor in the Piano Department of the University of Michigan School of Music. As a national and international performing artist, his repertoire ranges from the 16th century to the 21st. Professor Bush made his New York recital debut in 1984 at the Metropolitan Museum, and in 2001 made his Carnegie Hall concerto debut with the London Sinfonietta.


Gail Niwa

Piano

Gail continues to thrill audiences as she did at the 1991 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, where she became the only woman ever to win the Gold Medal. She also captured two additional awards, the Audience Prize and the Chamber Music Prize. She made her New York recital debut at Alice Tully Hall in October, 1991.


Clarinet

Clarinetist David Krakauer exudes an emotionally raw yet genial presence, baring a tireless spirit, humor and generosity. His best-selling classical and Klezmer recordings further define his brilliant tone, virtuosity and imagination. Krakauer is in demand worldwide as guest soloist with the finest chamber music groups. This past season he collaborated with the Tokyo String Quartet, the Eroica Trio, the Kronos Quartet, the Lark Quartet, the Mendelssohn String Quartet and the Empire Brass Quintet.

 

Clarinet

Todd Palmer's virtuosity and ebullient stage presence have brought him a stellar reputation as a solo clarinetist that is attained by few artists on his instrument. He made his New York debut at Carnegie Recital Hall as a winner of the 1987 Artists International Competition, and in 1988, he won the Grand Prize in the Ima Hogg Young Artist Competition in Houston (the first wind player to win this prestigious competition!).

 

Marc Goldberg

Bassoon

Marc Goldberg is the Associate Principal Bassoon of the New York Philharmonic. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from The Juilliard School as a student of Harold Goltzer. Upon graduating Juilliard, Marc embarked upon a varied and wide-ranging career that rapidly saw him become one of NY's busiest freelance musicians.

 

Marji Danilow

Double Bass

Marji Danilow is the Associate Principal Bassist of the New York City Opera. Active as a chamber artist, orchestral musician, and period-instrument player, Marji Danilow is widely acclaimed for her musical versatility. Now in her 13th season with the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival Marji has also performed with the La Jolla Summerfest, Barge Chamber Music series and Smithsonian Chamber Players.

 

Julie Landsman

French Horn

Julie Landsman is the Principal Horn of the Metropolitan Opera. Her summers have included participation in the Marlboro Music School, Sarasota Festival, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, La Jolla Summerfest, and the faculty of the Aspen Music School. She has been a soloist with the Houston Symphony, the Greenwich Symphony, the Rice University Orchestra, the Sarasota Festival Orchestra, and the Santa Fe Festival Chamber Ensemble.

Kenneth Cooper

Harpsichord

Harpsichordist, pianist, musicologist and conductor Kenneth Cooper is one of the world's leading specialists in music of the 18th century, and one of America's most exciting and versatile performers. He is famous for his improvisations, which enable him to revive a long-forgotten 1 8th century art, lending extraordinary authenticity to his performances.


Caterina Szepes

Violin

Since her recital debut on RAIS Berlin Radio in 1987, Caterina Szepes, a native of berlin, has appeared both as a soloist and as chamber musician throughout Europe, Australia, South America, and the United States. Her concerto performances include those with Rheinische Kammerphilharmonie Cologne, the Symphony Orchestra of Aue and the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra.


David Brickman

Violin

Violinist David Brickman enjoys a diverse career as soloist, chamber player, and orchestral musician. After spending a season with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and another as associate concertmaster of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, he returned to his native New York in 1989 to join the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra as its principal second violinist.


Danbi Um

Violin

Danbi Um started playing violin at age two and a half, and at 10 years old in 2000, she was the youngest student ever admitted to Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She studies there now with Jamie Larado, Ida Kavafian and Yumi Scott. At age13 she has made solo appearances with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra among others.


Harold Robinson

Double Bass

Internationally acclaimed artist, Harold Hall Robinson is currently the principal contrabassist with The Philadelphia Orchestra. Prior to this, Mr. Robinson spent 10 seasons as principal bassist of the National Symphony Orchestra, eight seasons as associate principal of the Houston Symphony Orchestra and three seasons as principal of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra.
